Description: Based on the writings of the Spanish mystic and saint St John of the Cross (1542-1591) and set to music by the Canadian singer Loreena McKennitt, this choreography by Anjali (Anne-Marie Gaston) was presented in Ottawa in March 1998. The idea of the soul in search of God as a women fleeing her home in the night to seek her beloved, is echoed in Hindu imagery and poetry relating to the Abhisarika Nayaka.
